It is not very common for them to have their beaks get overgrown. sometimes it is easier to crush bigger snails for them to eat. mine are eating mainly live blackworms. i wouldnt feed them guppy fry or anything from outside because anything fromt he wild has a chance of introducing parasites. they don’t NEED snails.
